BEFORE & AFTERSCHOOL CARE PROGRAM
We have selected to partner with the Downtown YMCA for our before/after school care program. The program will be onsite at John Rex and will available from 7am until school begins and when school releases until 6pm. View the attachment (link) for further information.
With so many demands on today’s families and the increased focus on early brain development, families need all the support they can get to nurture the potential of youth. That’s why child care and early learning programs at the Y focus on holistically nurturing child development by providing a safe and healthy place to learn foundational skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships and build self-reliance through the Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
With a focus on safety, health, social growth and academic enhancement, Y before and afterschool programs across the metro serve pre-kindergartners through middle schoolers with a variety of progrommatic and activity options to explore and develop their interests and talents. The Y also offers quality full-day and partial-day child care for infants through preschoolers, enabling parents and family members to go to work knowing their children are in safe, stimulating environmnets.
Our programs are staffed with people who understand the cognitive, physical and social development of kids, the need children have to feel connected and supported in trying new things, and the caring and reinforcement parents and families need to help each other.
At the Y, school-age kids make friends, learn new skills and develop character. That makes for confident kids today, and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow.
The before school program runs from 7a.m. to 8 a.m. and the after school programs run from end of school day to 6:00 pm on site at John Rex Charter Elementary School. Hours at the EDWARD L. GAYLORD DOWNTOWN YMCA for full day out-of school run from 7a.m. to 6 p.m. Care will not be offered on holidays that the Y is closed or on inclement weather days that the school is closed. These and other similar occurences have been considered in the pricing; therefore, credits or refunds will not be issued.
