We have Lift Off. Congratulations John Rex 8th Graders!

Seven years ago, John Rex Charter School opened its doors to Oklahoma City students. On May 19, 2021, the school hosted a very special graduation ceremony, “Lift Off,” for its first-ever eighth-grade class. John Rex is a 2020 recipient of the National Blue Ribbon Schools award

John Rex Charter School is a 2020 recipient of the National Blue Ribbon Schools award. Today, 367 schools were recognized as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2020. The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. “This is a huge honor for John Rex Charter School,” said Dean Ketchum, head of school. “I’d like to give a big congratulations to our dedicated leadership team and talented teachers. JRCS Community Updates

John Rex community, My official start date is soon approaching! In the meantime, the John Rex board has allowed me to jump in and become involved before the official start date. I have two exciting announcements to share with you today. First, it is my pleasure to announce Heather Zacarias will be starting a new charter school in Oklahoma City.
