Preparation for the Upcoming School Year
We hope everyone is having an amazing summer! We can’t wait to welcome the returning and new Rockets on the first day of school, August 11.
Please mark the important dates on your calendars and review information about the upcoming year below. Be on the lookout for more information as we continue to get closer to the start of the school year.
Meet the Teacher Day
Date: Friday, August 6, 2021
Elementary School: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Middle School: 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Families will be able to meet their teacher, turn in pre-boarding forms and school supplies at this time. You will also receive your car tags upon completion of paperwork.
Elementary school parents and guardians will receive an email from your child’s teacher to sign up for a 15-minute slot to come to the school.
Middle school students can sign up for a time to meet their teachers here.

Free and Reduced-Price School Meals
Free breakfast and lunches will continue for all students the 2021-2022 school year! Please still complete the free/reduced lunch form for our school’s records. Download here.
Pre-Boarding
Pre-boarding documents can be found here. Please print and complete these forms to bring with you to Meet the Teacher Day. Paper copies will be available at the school if needed.
Vaccination Records
If your student has updated vaccination records, please provide us with them. These can be emailed to joy@johnrexschool.org, or brought with you to Meet the Teacher Day.

Summer Meet Up
Date: Friday, August 6, 2021
Time: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Location: Scissortail Park Sprayground
Join the PTA for Summer Meet Up with new and returning Rockets! Don’t forget to bring a towel for the splashpad. Parents and guardians are encouraged to sign up for the PTA at the Summer Meet Up or online at johnrexpta.org/joinpta.
