We have Lift Off. Congratulations John Rex 8th Graders!
Seven years ago, John Rex Charter School opened its doors to Oklahoma City students. On May 19, 2021, the school hosted a very special graduation ceremony, “Lift Off,” for its first-ever eighth-grade class.
Of the nearly 50 students who graduated this year, 18 belong to Mission 1.0, a group of students who attended John Rex since its opening.
“I’m so proud of our 8th graders and know they will accomplish great things,” said Patrick Duffy, Director of Secondary Education.
“Some of these students were in our very first classes, so it’s bittersweet to watch them grow up and leave John Rex for high school,” said Lana Ingram, Director of Elementary Education.
“This year’s graduation is special. The students accomplished so much during a pandemic when life was anything but normal,” said Dean Ketchum, Head of School. “Their perseverance and Rocket spirit will serve them well!”
